Basically I'm redoing my old site, this time with separate sections for downloads, links, and what not. If you're one of those people I'm hosting models for, you might want to shoot me an IM. If you want to keep your pages up the way they are that's fine, otherwise you have the chance to make an account and contribute directly through the site. It's gonna be along the lines of a CMS or content management system. You get an account, the ability to post news and reviews, show off your latest works, talk about them. And it's going to be integrated with the Rendergods chat so you'll always be able to see what other people have to say. I'm not competing with R'osity, I'd just like to give those without a site or with something to say the chance to express themlselves freely as well as drum up some more hits on their art. Aside from that, if anyone else wants to be part of this project -i.e. submitting tutorials, writing critique and opinions on Bryce (and the assorted panoply of helper tools we all use) then you're more than welcome to contact me as well. The site should be finished within a week's time. drac ps: don't know if i sold it well enough, but it's a cool idea dammit :P

As soon as you get a job and lose almost all your free time you decide to do this?! Not one for great timing are you? :-) As always, anything I can do, just say the word, But no ritual sacrifices this time. (Virgins are hard to come by these days)

I worked in a bank once, though it didn't take me as long as that, and I rather enjoyed the experience, though I'll admit the hail of gunfire as I was making my getaway was a bit much. ;)

I might be able to help with some bits of the site.
(I have some knowledge in HTML, javascript, and now FlashMX.)
Not anywhere near the pro-level mind you, but I can do good enough to make something that works.
I could probably cobble together a browser flash-plugin detect routine in javascript, if it fails it would use a "simpler" javascript page. And then an ol' fashioned not-so-interactive version using

Attached Link: http://mapage.noos.fr/ardant3d/player/index.htm
Draculaz here is the player ( just follow the link lol ) It's a full features Player, to add a song you have to edit the xml file "songlistC.xml" (with wordpad for exemple) just enter the URL of the mp3 you would like to play and the player will look for it, you don't have to host the song in the player folder.. Of course I can change the player look.. something more "Bryce".. or you can do it if you know Flash. If you like it I send you the url to download it.draculaz posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 4:26 AM
that's bloody awesome! some 'elevator' music would be useful for the site. take a look at http://www.freewriters.ca/wob and see how you could integrate it in the look of the site. i'd like it to be stopped when the page loads, and then users can just pick whatever they want, if they want it. drac
johnyf posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 7:46 AM
Really like the music there pidjy...if you are looking for a title for the third track, how about "Primatives". Any site that I've been to so far that has music playing, the music stops whenever you change the link in the site. Say, you enter at the Home page, the music begins, but as soon as you link to view the galleries, perhaps, it stops. Is it possible to have the music continue without stopping as long as all links taken are within the same site! John.

Well, there's this thing called frames. If a page is designed to work with 'em, that shouldn't be much of a problem. It's just a matter of having one frame dedicated for the placement of the player. Of course you would have to account for that one patch of "real estate" used for the player when designing all the pages. There might be some other coding tricks with scripting too, but using frames seems the easiest and most obvious way I know of.
