pretty cool...I like how you did the extra detail on the wood. My dad is an antique collector so the multigrain/pattern looking wood is the first thing I noticed. What a pain that must have been. Looks authentic tho, so the work paid off. Now the real question is ... did you do IK on the lid and are you going to animate it? :)

Thanks Brent. Yea..It was a major undertaking. I measured each piece on the real trunk and built it in Carrara to scale. It was fun though. I learned a lot. Mainly that 3D boolean operations in Carrara suck! ;) Oh yea man...The lid opens and closes in Poser. Wouldnt be hard to do in Carrara either. The IK Chain is: MainTrunk | TrunkTop I used photos for the T-Map. Regards, Clint

Do you have the gold bricks in your house, too? If so, can I be your friend? :o) Nice work; I really need to get cracking and learn how to move models from RDS into Poser with texturing intact. I know it's UV mapper, but it frightens me.... Like the vertex modeler. Guess I'll have to get over it. - Chip

Great job Clint. I have to agree about the boolean operations. Anymore when I want to have something with a hole punched through it, I use the spline modeler to create the outline of the object and the hole and group them together. This works quite well for keyholes and the like. Tony

Tony - Yep. Thats what I had to do... I mean - I tied to create a square that was about .02 thick by 4"x5" and then subtract another smaller square from that and it couldnt even do that with 3D boolean. It fried that shape really bad. So I used the Spline modeler to do it. Worked fine that way. Clint
