I downloaded the kids from Daz3 and I don't see them in Poser. I installed them in my Poser4, objects folder. What am I doing wrong. Kimberly Brugier krbtv@home.com

I downloaded them and haven't installed them yet, but they're an EXE file (assuming you have the PC version), so they should have auto installed into the correct places on their own. I would assume they would be in the Characters library. I'll have to install them and see where they go for me. I hope you find them. Melanie

By default it copies them to: C:Program FilesCurious LabsPoser4 I got my Poser from MetaCreations. I placed them in the default directory, then I placed them in under my Poser directory under Runtime and they still don't show up. Has anyone had any luck?

Ok, not knowing whether you are running pc or mac, here is a possibility. The new exe for pc directs the files towards the curious labs version of poser. Now if it is the same way with the sit file for mac, you may be expanding them to the drive you installed poser on. Now.... If you are still not upgraded and are running poser as metacreations on a pc, those files have installed themselves in a folder created by the installer called curious labs in your program folder. If you just changed the curious labs to metacreations, the new version of poser4 has a space in the file name.(poser4 vs. poser 4) So you may have two poser 4 files on your program files. If Mac expands the same you may also have two files in the same folder. Just my experience with the new installer. They're there, you just may have to find them.

If you put them under Poser 4 then the exe will put them in the libraru under DAZ Character. Before it used to be Zygote Character

I updated and the update left everything under the metacreations folder, and I also updated to pro pack. I watch when I'm installing the free stuff now, if it says it's going to the curiouslabs subdirectory I re-direct it to the metacreations subdirectory, then continue the install. Are you saying that the update should have kicked everything to a curious labs subdirectory? The only thing that changed was the shortcut is now in a curous labs folder on my start menu. If you follow the shortcut, at least on my system it still points to Program Files/Metacreations/Poser/ Marque

As long as you put your directory as POSER 4, it doesn't matter what the beginning is. Mine are not in c/program files at all. Everyone should use Zygote/DAZ3D and many other artists the standard (what I call it) to install at position POSER 4 whithout the beginning.

I also have the MetaCreations version. When I installed something that was directed to Curious Labs, it created a directory on my hard drive called Curious Labs, outside of Poser. I had to manually move each part to its proper place. I suppose this will be a minor problem until everyone moves up to Curious Labs versions. Melanie

Usually you should be able to install to whatever directories. When you see the proposed path, just choose the one you want as long as it is the root which is Poser 4. The root can also be "abc" as long as all other directories are under the root.
