How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Geez man...do you live in a magical fairy land or what!?! That is an amazing shot, and I personally would love to push the unreal aspect. It is wonderful as is actually. But, if you want to make it more realistic here are some suggestions. 1. Make the midtones lighter. 2. Destaturate it a bit. 3. Sharpen it some. 4. Retake the shot at high noon. Hope that helps! ;]

lol... retake the shot at high noon! funny :] yep, it is awesome! the surreal colors & mist.. & i agree, having a "straight" shot look unreal is even better!!! but you usually have to state that... (if they read it... ;o)))

Andreas could always photoshop the mist back in...if he retakes it at exactly the same spot and angle. We all know how he LOVES to do stuff like that. =] Of course, it really wouldn't look real then...conundrums!

LMAO!!! One problem though... I had to break into a "construction site" where they are laying a railroad....reckon it will be too much people there at high noon. And what if the train comes? What does "conundrums" mean? Im swedish and my dictionary only covers so much.

It means a tough problem to solve. Even more so in light of your recent revelation. :)

The only postwork that I would do myself would be to remove the poles and buildings from the horizon...just make it a pure nature shot.

I realize this thread has pretty much ended.....but I'm going to throw my 2 cents in anyway. :) Andreas, you silly man!! This is an amazing photo! I understand that you don't want people to think it's been fudged or messed with, but whether you mess with it or not, it's still your artwork. People will love it because it's an awsome piece of art. (of course, there are those who might like pimbo's version better ;P ) But you know it's an outstanding picture and others will agree. I do like the way you took the buildings and poles out, but really, nothing else needs to be done. Of course, this is just my opinion. sigh I wish I had those kinds of pics in my gallery! Okay, I'll stop my own blah blah blah now. :) I hope to see this image in your gallery at some point. :)
