Well im gonna be real honest with you Mayliah...i love it. Its not that often that those filters actually improve your image in my opinion, but you pulled it off big time with this one. Its really gorgeous!!! If i knew anything about painting i would probably compare it to some akvarell or something...but i dont even know how an akvarell looks, lol. So i shall just settle with saying that it looks like a PAINTING. Even though i havent seen your original one, i can imagine it looked rather dull and boring compared to this one. So in my opinion, you surely brought out the best in this one.
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

It works here, definitely a Cool Effect. Honest. I love the way the background fades. Like Andreas says, filters don't always work for an image, but here, it does. Shame on your hubby for that unsupportive comment! ;]

Olivier, thanks for your reply! What was your picture, originally? The colors suggest some kind of flowering plant. :) Did you use a radial blur? Thank you so much for sharing. :) Isn't it fun to do creative experiments?

TwoPynts, I see what my husband does not like..it's a very harsh image while the original was kind of soft. I'm not sure which, if either of them I will eventually post in my gallery. Maybe both, I don't know. :) Thanks a lot for your comment.

Mayliah... that image looks like a plant with the world faded out behind it.
Whatever happened in photoshop worked to your advantage. If the brightness could be toned down a bit you would have one cool surreal image. No cryin allowed here either....

I'm gonna go against the flow here and say that it definitely doesn't work for me! I'm not too keen on such effects in the first place I have to admit but it can work sometimes indeed! I just don't think it does here! But it's just a matter of taste and in the end, go with what YOU like! ;)
TwoPynts posted Wed, 07 September 2005 at 9:06 AM
Forever the rebel, eh Pascalou? ;o] Yes, you prove that this can be a matter of taste and it is what the artist wants to express that is the deciding factor.

Hey Pascale, one thing I really like about you (among many), is that you always say what you feel. Sometimes that's kind of a rarity around here and I respect you for that. You're right, it all depends on what the individual is looking for. Jack

Hey Jock, this is a very interesting shot, it really does have that look to it that doesn't want any postwork. Is that a bullet hole in the window? Looks like maybe a BB. The ripples on the glass are very cool. I've been watching the show on TV trying to raise relief money and have really been overcome by a great feeling of sadness. So much death and destruction it's hard to believe. Glad you're OK but it must be a mess even where you are.

Like they takes the money that was to go on the levels and use it in they pork barred stuff like building lakes or hotels. Yes Louisiana Goverment is building one in the North Louisiana area.
