I'm a Poser Merchant and I'm looking for someone able to translate my product descriptions (written in poooor English) into correct ones. The languages I need are: English Spanish French I will pay my translators with a free copy of my (present and future) products! Thanks!

xantor posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 9:32 AM

I could do the english but I don`t know enough spanish or french to do them. :(

artistheat posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 9:35 AM

Here are some sites that might help with the Translations. http://www.systransoft.com/index.html http://www.freetranslation.com/

digitalemotions posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 9:40 AM

One language it's Ok! I'm sorry, I explained my needs very badly (I definitively NEED a translator!). So, I reformulate my post: I need Three translators for English, Spanish and French! Thanks.

xantor posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 9:48 AM

The problem with translator sites is that they are usually a bit too literal with the translating and for someone who doesn`t know the languages well, it could cause more problems.

digitalemotions posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 9:53 AM

Great! The "English" work will be done by Xantor. Thanks. I'm still looking for Spanish and French! Regards.

bandolin posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 10:30 AM

I can do French if you like. What language will you be supplying the original copy? J'pere que vous n'avez pas besoins de translations des mots techniques. C'est mots sont, d fois, tr difficile traduire. Je ne suis pas un professionel. I hope you don't have need of translating technical terms. Those words are, sometimes, very difficult to translate. I am not a professional.

wouldn't you prefer Portuguese over Spanish??

digitalemotions posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 10:40 AM

Good! Also French is done! Still looking for Spanish ....

digitalemotions posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 10:43 AM

to NimProdAction I think Spanish is more popular than Portuguese(more people speak it) .. or not? Are there many Portuguese people here?

NimProdAction posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 10:48 AM

Well there are some Portuguse people and Brazilian also speak Portuguse....And it is a little similar to Spanish. Example: Portuguese "Eu n vivo em U.S.A" Spanish "Yo no vivo en U.S.A" English "i dont live in U.S.A"

miken999 posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 11:00 AM

If you need to translate French technical terms, that's not a problem for me ... I'm Belgian and speaking French ;)

bandolin posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 11:33 AM

Tu falas portuguese! Eu falo um pouco. N posso disse muito coisa em portuguese mas minha esposa portuguesa. Sorry for the bad portuguese.

Digitalemotions I would say, stick with spanish, you don`t have to translate every language spoken and spanish probably is more used than portugese.

mateo_sancarlos posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 11:59 AM

I can do the Spanish, depending on what the product is. Although Portuguese speakers can usually read Spanish (and vice versa), I agree that a Portuguese version would be a good idea, given that you've got millions of potential customers who speak Portuguese. I would also suggest adding German to the list.

NimProdAction posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 12:00 PM

and why not Italian too?

Merlin posted Wed, 14 September 2005 at 12:20 PM

I'm French, so if you need your translation checked... I've seen here some proposals which aren't in a very good French, no offense intended.

You're right if you take into account the native speakers, bandolin. But if you add the second or third languages, these numbers may change a little ;)

Didn't I hear somewhere that Klingon was one of the fastest growing languages. Pardonez mon Quecois, Merlin. By all means digitalemotions, use a real frenchman for your translations. I'm just a Frenglais as we say here. I speak Frenglish. :D

Crikey! Don't let the PTB see that list of spoken languages....
They will have us doing our readme files in Mandarin & Hindustani.

It's hard enough working out what to put in the English one without translations

I said earlier that you could do the spanish, as long as you can understand what is being said, it should be easy enough for you to translate the text, jedi master.

Casette posted Thu, 15 September 2005 at 10:04 AM

Well, I could try... If I can understand it, I suppose I can translate it...
