Anyone know of a figure or good props (robes etc.) for the big JC? Free or otherwise is ok. Thanks!

PoserWorld has Biblical clothing.

thip had a robe for M2 that might work. Not sure where to find it any more though. I used it under my former username in this.

Since I do alot of Christian themed artwork, I have been working on a Jesus character that I could use all the time. My Jesus uses 3Dream's King texture on M2 and I used my own character morphs. To me, He is dark complected because He was from the Middle East. I use DNA's Angelus hair (I'm using P6) and I created my own mustache and beard in the hair room. For clothing, I sometimes use Daz's Wizard robe, M3 Mediteranean Gown and PoserWorld's Biblical clothing.

Really he has a more realistic look than the classic image :)

Very well done, I like it a lot. He does have a classic Middle Eastern look. Well done!

Ever see this model they did of Jesus' head? They did a detailed forensic analysis of men of the time (arguing that Jesus must have been average-looking, since he had to be pointed out by Judas, and was able to hide among the population). They also used art from the time to get the right style of hair and beard. Jewish men of that era all had short hair and close-cropped beards. And the New Testament does say that men with long hair are an abomination, or something like that. So Jesus probably did not have the long, flowing hair he's often depicted with.

One woman who saw this image was outraged. She said, "He looks like a terrorist!"

Casette posted Tue, 20 September 2005 at 6:50 PM

One woman? I remember this model created a scandal... some christians said than Jesus couldnt have that face... sometimes faith and stupidity are very near...

Its only classical tradition that Jesus had long blond hair and fair skin. I really like the work that agape has done.

Thanks for all the great help. I'm doing an interior view of a church and I needed a figure that I could use as a statue. I don't suppose there are any papal robes or miters & staffs anywhere? Thanks again, gtrias

Go to 3dCommune.com. Cooler made a bishop's hat. I believe it's still in the 3dCommune Free Stuff.

If you're using Poser 5 or 6, check out PoserFashion.net. The Poser 5 section has a free dynamic monk's outfit for Michael 3. Re-textured, it might work for bishop's robes. (You could make a stole yourself with the high-res square in the cloth room.)

If you're using P4 or PP, DAZ has some "wizard robes" for Michael 3 that might work with the right textures.

Thip had a great robe for Mike in a freebie section somewhere that I often use, but now I can't find a link to it... does anyone else remember this? BTW, Agape, I really like your Jesus. He looks to me like Jesus should-- human, not like some ideally handsome Frenchman with long flowing golden locks and far too many ribs.

Agape, I really like your Jesus. He looks to me like Jesus should-- human, not like some ideally handsome Frenchman with long flowing golden locks and far too many ribs. I like him, too. Looks like he'd happily sit down with you and eat a lamb kebab or something (kosher, of course ;-). Really nice work, and an appealing interpretation. bonni

I remember reading somewhere that the classical Renaissance depiction of Jesus, with the long flowing hair and beard, was based on the Shroud of Turin ... which surfaced at about the same time. From a "mystical" standpoint, though, I think the blue eyes that many old paintings of Jesus have used is a symbol of someone who is spiritually enlightened; and the reddish hair may be symbological of fire (the fire of the spirit). It is very likely, though, that Jesus looked more like the men shown above (with or without long hair, their features are very similar).

If his clothes have a long unsplit tail part, you will run into the same problems as with women's skirts. I had the same when I wanted to make a model of a surgical operating gown for Dork.

But it's so easy. I just hope no one is impressed. Possible hot 20 material, if the Jesus wields a kickass sword and chooses his pink pony wisely. I like both images, the agape render and the forensic image by randym77, just because they seem human, which is the whole point really. This guy means nothing if he can't sit down and be like us.

agape's render looks like Denzel Washington Jesus. Very impressive though.

The 2nd pic looks like one of the 12 disciples.

Seems like that would be easy to do with an animated shader, really.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

I prefer agape's jesus, as jesus2 above looks like a neanderthal IMVHO.
nobody believes jesus looked like max von sydow nor jeff hunter, but that's whom they cast,
at least until gibson cast caviezel, but nobody saw movie that AFAIK.  not certain where
they got the idea of jesus being blond/blue-eyed, but the british have some mythology about
him and joseph of arimithea being in britain at some time.
