My entry for the September Challenge is at the link. ...and a thumbnail for the challenge page. You didn't limit it to current music. ;^) My upstairs neighbor caught me on my knees in the front yard frantically brushing cat-hair off the Christmas tree skirt. She looked at the props around the circle and assumed that I was up to some wiccan-or-other ritual (sheesh, as though I'd dance naked in my front yard)... the truth would have been weirder, though. If we weren't artists, we'd be hauled away for examination. Carolly

i think it's really neat! When i see it, for some reason i'm reminded of The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos!!! Fabulous entry!

Thanks! I've listened to Gregorian chant and other early music for a long, long time...even longer than my exposure to electronic music (what later got known as New Age). Several of my friends play harps and keyboards and other complicated stuff... I can barely manage single-note-at-a-time instruments. ;^) If this was work for a client, they'd get a choice of 3-6 fonts and at least 3 layouts before final work (like tweaking those letters) got niggled at. I'm a bit indecisive (pink letters or gold?), so letting them choose (as long as none of the choices are bad!!!) not only increases their involvement, but helps ensure final approval. I had to put a muting layer between the photo and the text so that the letters would stand out a bit more. That was really bright sunlight on a really bright scarf... and the tree skirt wasn't subtle, either. For a photographic challenge, I should probably have let the image dominate... but as a package, the titling needed that extra bounce. :sigh: Anyway, this was a really fun challenge... opened the creative juices. There are so many ways that those letters could have been taken. :) Carolly
