Ok, I never realized glass was a problem until a few days ago. Since then, been struggling. This image shows, glass material that comes with Poser(6)

Rotating the prop (X-90 degress). And this is the result. No change in the material room. Top corner of glass Prop, appears not be glass at all. Then lower part of the glass prop, a problem.

You could try making the raytrace bounces higher in the render settings.

Then reading (Seach: Glass), the past threads and realizing. Why would anyone put a reflect nod attached to reflect color, value. Refract nod attached to Refract color, value. That kills the CPU and their is already Reflect and Refract with values. I put a reflect nod on reflect color, value nod value to 1.000. Although 0.2 is the default. I had to stop the render. Was hard on my computer. Even on value 0.2.

Shouldn`t he be using a reflect node to make the reflection work properly?

Robo2010 posted Fri, 23 September 2005 at 7:19 PM

Using the Reflection Nod on Reflection, confuses me. Why put one? Same with Refraction, with a Refraction Nod. Using Reflection as a example in image in Post #4. What is the difference with "Quality values", from "Reflection Values"

Little_Dragon posted Fri, 23 September 2005 at 7:31 PM

Reflection_Value is strength or intensity, Quality is more like accuracy or precision.

Robo2010 posted Fri, 23 September 2005 at 8:06 PM

Still not convinced. What is the nod reflecting for accuracy? It seems like a no no to put a reflect nod on reflect when something else can be used. Here is a image with nothing reflecting. Transparency value at 1.0000.

Doing more tests now. Using the "Reflect" nod on alternate difuse instead of Reflect. Now I am starting to see reflections and faster rendering. You can now see reflections on the spheres, also on the glass top. Adjusting em.

Adjusted glass, also the spheres.

Robo2010 posted Fri, 23 September 2005 at 11:00 PM

This is the actual render. The gold sphere does great. Moved Reflection nod (Gold Sphere), to diffuse color. Still struggling on a perfect glass top. You can see, I have a long ways to go.

Try making the specular colour black for the glass.

Robo2010 posted Fri, 23 September 2005 at 11:39 PM

k...changed the specular colour to black for the glass.

Also the floor was not helping, so I lighten up a bit. Also realized after rendering, floor is not reflecting. Wanting a perfect glass top, so that didn't matter for now. Looking for some light bounce on the glass top. My Raytrace bounces are at 6 for render setting.
