How the hell do ya remove it in Photoshop CS? Yeah, I know, should have known better!!!! Sods law I call it!!!

I'll tell ya what, I have tried it and it doesn't work. Maybe I need to practice, but it keeps coming out grey. I do it in Paint Shop Pro and it is perfect. Look in the help files....it tells you how. I can't remember right now since I always do it in PSP. If the image isn't too personal, you could always post it and let people play with it and tell you how they did it. Boy, I really didn't help, did I? LOL Hopefully someone else will give you more help. :)

Photographs taken at a kids birthday party I did. Cute lil girl, classic red eye, and I mean classic!...kinda more personal to them really and dont really wanna post pics of lillte girls without the parents permission! Just a few with that dreaded red eye!!

My little girl is like that. She has green eyes and they turn out red all the time....do you have paint shop pro? or just photoshop? Okay, so here it is...the first is the original, second is paint shop and third is photoshop. In photoshop, you use the color replacement tool..it has an eye and a paint brush. Set your swatch to black, the tool should be set at top to mode: color; sampling:once; limits:discontiguous; tolerance:30%; anti-alias checked. These are just low res pics that I did real quick. Hope that helps. Thought I would try to give more help. :)

Damia, it comes out grey because you need to set your forground color to the eye color you want. Then paint with the Color Replacment tool (in healing brush square) and viola, red eye is gone. Just be careful to only paint the red eye.

Hmmmm...I did it with the foreground color set to black in those....I just tried it with the foreground color set to her eye color and it still came out grey. Oh well.....I'll have to play around with it. Thanks Kort! :)

Hmmm, is is working in my version of CS(1). I amazingly couldn't find any good example of red-eye in my photo library at work (damn, I'm a good photographer) so I used this stoplight as an example instead. I set both colors to green and with the color replacement tool, proceeded to paint over the red. Worked for me! :)

That's so weird. I wonder why mine is doing that. I tried it with a purple color and it came out a lighter purple than the foreground. Maybe there is a setting that I have missed. And yes, you must be a good photog if you don't have any red eyes!! :)

I find that if the red is a very bright (luminosity high) then then the black will be a very light grey. Would be nice if there was a luminosity setting to control how black you want. PSP red does work much better, but I have gotten use to CS. I use the Red Eye removal, then paint the black back into the eye using the paint brush set to a very low opacity

What version is that Kort? I'm using PS 8....CS No red eye there!!!

I have tried CS....Elemnts3..and Photo Impact to try and reduce red ey....grrr
None compare to Paintshop Pro 8 in removing it.
Total control in that program.
Actually Danielle, you came up with a great idea in posting it to let others show thier methods. Also a good job done on your daughters image.

Yes Danielle, it was neat to see other's methods. I use PhotoshopCS and know there is no red-eye tool there, Just the Color Replacement Tool. CS2 has the Red-Eye. I wasn't addressing anyone about it in particular.
