the title of this message says all... i've seen that recently if i use manual settings (90% of shoots) autofocus doesn't work... maybe have i touch some settings in the camera? i've read all the manual and i cannot understand what may be... hope that my camera feel good :(

thanks for answer me... but the lens was on AF, and the AF was activate.. maybe one setting that i don't know was activate... i've reset all the camera and now works correctly :)

Those menus are tricky..I needed some time to figure my D70 functions and kept the book nearby for reference. Now, I finally know all functions I generally use and those are not many. Glad yours works.

I don't know the Canon settings in detail - but f.i. in the Nikon world (as for my Fuji S3) it is essential to choose the right focussing area, perhaps disable moving spots and in my case disable priority for the nearest object... (so focussing and metering with a DSLR has to be done very consciously)

i'm not sure... i just own a 300D but in manual mode you have the possibility to choose as specific autofocus point to use only - perhaps you activated on of the most outer ones - which could cause a wrong focussing in most times... my five cent...
