My dad called me last night and also sent me two urls with photos of the cameras he is looking into buying me. He wanted to know which one I liked, I wished I could have came here and asked for your opinions, but he needed to know by this morning so he could go out and buy it. I had to chose between the Nikon 800, which I believe is what Colm and Syyd uses right? and the other one is the Nikon 950. For some reason the 950 kept drawing me in, I am not sure why, so I told him I wanted the 950. I am so excited. He will probably buy it today, play with it over the weekend and mail it out on Monday. I am really excited about this and will let you all know any details I find out when he contacts me. Leigh

That's great Leigh. Chris is right. The Nikon range are just fantastic. You are going to love it. Congrats, Colm... PS: It's the Nikon 880, not the 800 that Syyd and myself have. There is a one megapixel difference but then again there will be a difference in the price. That Camera you are getting will take superb quality photographs.

Leigh. For a really indepth look at the 950, go here. There is also about 100 high quality example photographs to view that were taken with this camera. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikoncp950/ It should really wet your appetite...

Go for it, it was Chris that got me interested in Nikons in the first place, take a look in the photo galleries at his work....You cannot beat the lenses. The 880 is an incredible little camera. The only peeve I have with digital cameras is their size. I have camera shake, and it is difficult for me to learn to be so still, I see things, and jump quickly to photograph, there is also a lesson in that too. To stop camera shake, and to really evaluate a photographic scene from all angles. Im thrilled for you Leigh and cannot wait to see what you will photograph. Syyd

Welcome to the 950 club, you'll love your new camera (and don't let people with 990's tell you otherwise ;-) )

Likewise on the 950. I love mine to bits. I even have a page on my website dedicated to the E950. You might like to check it out. By the way another good review site is www.Steves-Digicams.com. They review all cameras an add-ons. Enjoy
