Is anyone familiar with XML in here? I thought the point of creating User Interfaces with XML was the fact you could make them infinitely adjustable (or so I thought). I've been fiddling in the UI folder having noticed there are a bunch of psd's in there. From what I can tell the xml file refers to various layers within the psd's for particular "images" to place in the UI. So far however, in my attempts to adjust it I have only managed to corrupt the UI (My paramater dials disappeared altogether and the Library had "invisible" parts). So if there's anyone who can at least tell me what to change to edit the main background colour I'd appreciate it! TIA

Well, as far as via XML, I don't know. I am familiar with XML, but I never bothered to look at the Poser UI stuff. However, I remember seeing that someone said you can change the main background color by clicking the paint bucket, then clicking on the background. This supposedly opens the color picker, which would allow you to change the background color. It's worth a shot, and much easier than trying to decipher the XML. Hope this helps.

lol True. But there's a lot more that I'd like to change eventually which u can't do with the colour picker. As I have a vision impairment I want to change the colour setup of Poser almost completely.

Have this link from Stefan's site, he has a tutorial on how to play with Poser's 5 XML to change the background: http://www.keindesign.de/stefan/poser/tricks.html It may work for you.

came across a good guide on how to disable the Content tab by editing the main UI XML from the link below (unfortunately I can't get to the actual article as my work firewall keeps blocking me but you should be able to find it if you start here - search for "Content Parasite" on this page for the link)

Link

may sound obvious, but just make sure you take a backup of any XML pages that you play around with in case it all goes wrong - one bracket out of place can be difficult to find and can completely destroy the code obviously this link is not specifically to change colors etc, but may be useful in understanding the XML pages

Got a backup :) Actually I backed up the entire UI directory just in case. The background change for P5 doesn't seem to work in P6 NukedBug. Works for a brief moment during startup (the background went black for about 3 seconds). But you end up with the default grey eventually. Am going to try a visual xml editor to see if I can figure it out a bit better.

starmage, Have you seen this thread? File folder icon trick only works in P5, but the Morph Dial space saver works for both P5 and P6. (You'll need to login to visit it.)
