I have learned a couple of things from watching TV Chef EMERIL's Cajun Cooking shows-
  1. It always makes me hungry!

  2. KICK IT UP A NOTCH!

Why settle for BEAUTIFUL CLOUDS...

...when you can have SCREAMINGLY BEAUTIFUL Clouds?

Veritas777 posted Thu, 06 October 2005 at 5:53 PM

The TRICK isn't in CRANKING UP the Saturation in Photoshop, but in upping the Saturation and GAIN in the extremely WELL HIDDEN "Advanced Camera Options" (that only a few of the Highly Ordained in the Secret Society of Cloudus Maximus -which secretly controls the Entire World, BTW) knows about...

But by making the extremely complex and tricky RIGHT CLICK on the Camera, and selecting EDIT OBJECT, you TOO can join the Inner Sanctum of the C.M.S.!

The GAIN control is especially nice because it creates that FILM LIKE Gain Effect that you used to see in 35mm Kodachrome Color Slides ( a few of you might remember what a "35mm Slide" is/was.) Since this happens in the actual Vue Render COLOR SPACE- it looks much more NATURAL than trying to do this Photoshop...

Your AVERAGE Terragen Clouds in Vue Sky...

...Screaming SPICY CAJUN CLOUDS with HOT SAUCE!

...Your AVERAGE Hum-Drum Volumetric Sky with Volumetric Lighting...

Veritas777 posted Thu, 06 October 2005 at 6:08 PM

...And that same Volumetric Sky which looks like that "Once-in-a-Lifetime" shot you made just before you got on the plane to leave that South Pacific Island you visited last year!

Of course, Professional Photographers make these kinds of shots quite a LOT! That's how they make their living. And now, so can YOU (make a Living from Vue with your Exotically Beautiful Cloudscapes, --and be able to pay for that next Vue 6 upgrade!)

Veritas777 posted Thu, 06 October 2005 at 6:13 PM

BTW- ALL these skys are using just TWO vertical Camera Facing Billboards with Terragen Clouds and some generic Vue sunset sky backgrounds.

The range of beautiful skies that can be made are huge!

(And these don't compare to what I am REALLY working on!)

Okay, got to go stand in a dark corner and let my overworked cones recover their poor bleached-out biodyes. Maybe take a few carrots to chew on too. If ya notch it up any more, i'll have to put sun screen on my eyeballs. Ah, the after images are starting to fade...

Lokks like someone's having a ball with clouds! Humm... shouldn't you see a specialist, Veritas? Lol, of course!

Veritas777 posted Thu, 06 October 2005 at 8:49 PM

I am quite certain this entire thread is a result of that jar of Emeril's "Roasted Gaaahlic and Kicked-Up Tomato Sauce" that I had last night with my Spagetti and blackened Catfish! ...WOWSERS!

More fantastic ideas. I've been playing with Terragen clouds since your last post. It's the best workaround for adding clouds to Vue that I've seen and tried. I appreciate all your hard work and brilliant ideas.
