Ok, ok, everybody likes a little _$$ but nobody like a wise_$$, right? For modeling, you might like to to try "Wings3D." It's a free modeling program that you can use to make some pretty sophisticated stuff or some pretty simple stuff, depending on your mood that day. (check the attached link) Clothing? Well, that's another story. I'm sure one of the experets, like PhilC, will happen along and give you some excellent advice. cheers, dr geep ;=]Remember ... There is no best software! Any 3D modeling program can make meshes that can be turned into poser clothing. IT is more a matter of the individual's skill and familiarity with their chosen program. I use and really like Carrara, but other will tell you how hard it is to use! I find Max, Cinema, Truespace and Rhino to be too confusing, but others love them. I also haven't had time to really learn Shade (which came with my Poser 6) nor Hexagon, but both look like they are powerful programs. Wings 3D, Milkshape, and Blender have the advantage of being really cheap or free. Lightwave and Maya or at the other end of the price scale. I recently learned that Anton Keisel uses one of the free soft wares (I think it was Wings) and no one can say he doesn't do some really beautiful and complex work. So the sophistication of the program isn't as important as the person using it. Best advice, try as many free demos as you can get a hold of. Find the one that you feel most comfortable with and LEARN to use it. Once you start, post WIP pictures and ask advice, construction theory is multi-program, even if actual techniques and trick may vary. Most of the people on the boards are VERY helpful. A question asked, with supporting pics usually generates a multitude of replies and you can choose the answer that best meets you needs, your skill level and the program your using. mike
