Wish I could upload something here but my new PC is deader than a doornail. But if I could,I'd show my 'Nightmare Before Christmas' figures, etc.I also collect things from,'Alice in Wonderland'.Sigh,it would've been fun showing them... :( Lovely collection Kimmie.I love how you presented it here.Wonderful the way you framed it like a shadowbox.I have a ton of CD's,too,Kort.Tons of them. But since I got i-tunes,THEY mostly collect dust.LOL. :)

"do you store them in your freezer ?" Naw, just a clear air-tight container and stored at room temp. (I just got the ones that are orange and black today...the ones that have jack-o-lanterns printed on them instead of the letter, "M") Cheers!

Those are gorgeous, Cyn! Something magical about little boxes. At the Rennaisance (sp?) Festival years back, there was a guy who sold puzzle boxes made from gnarled roots of trees. He made them entirely with a bandsaw and then hand-polished them to a wonderful shininess. And you had little trick handles and drawers that, once removed, showed more smaller drawers. Really unique and wonderful.
cynlee posted Sat, 15 October 2005 at 2:08 PM
they do sound wonderful.. & you didn't pick me up one? :(
was just looking at your M&Ms again.. i guess some of those colors are now retired..
could maybe even get a big return on Ebay for them!

The paizly (sp?) ones were hard to find. And the breast cancer ones took me a couple months to find after they came out. Now, I'm just debating whether to get some from the M&M website that you can personalize (but they are expensive). Hehe, and I wasn't even able to take a photo of my wrapper collection (it's at work). Cyn, those puzzle boxes were $125 to $250. As I look back on them (about 10 years ago), I'm thinking they were a good price. The average size was about equal to a very large grapefruit (if you can imagine an oblong grapefruit). But, the grain and swirls on the wood were magical!

kimariehere, nice idea for nongo's glass. I was thinking of a nice table-top about 1 and a half to 2 inches wide with clear acrylic poured over all of it. I wonder why there are no reds and purples and yellows?
nongo posted Sun, 16 October 2005 at 10:24 AM
Chuck, I guess because they didn't make to many bottles out of those colors??? All these pieces came from what people through into the ocean, and yes to you Kimmers I do live on an island and I love to walk the beaches, over time a couple of pocket fulls add up. I also have a large collection of agates too. Each day more wash up on the beach so I haven't depleted the source at all... Akemi
ChuckEvans posted Sun, 16 October 2005 at 10:28 AM
Yeah, maybe the dyes that were available at the time. (I like agates, too) Thanks for sharing.

ChuckEvans posted Sun, 16 October 2005 at 7:05 PM
What an impressive collection! (figured nongo would like it...hehe). I used to collect sand, too, but I forgot to label all the onces from a trip once and got upset (LOL). My favorite was the one from Greece that was "black" sand (volcanic sand, I guess).

A great "collection" of collections everyone. It is very neat to see what everyone collects...it says something about you. What exactly that is, I have no idea, lol! =]
