I'm sure it's already been covered, but I'm having a problem in P6. I just got it. Everything's wonderful, save one thing. From a distance, things like teeth and eyeballs actually show THROUGH the skin... I'm loving it, so far, except this. It also happens with clothing...

Nevermind, it's the display setting. Needed to switch from OpenGL to Screed. :)

? Happens the other way round for most people. Switching to OpenGL cures the display problems, as a rule.

Very odd, indeed, but my system is odd. Works pretty well either way, and I /love/ the new transmap display. I've hoped for it for years.

OpenGL to Screed works for me. The fix it thread at CL/eF said that is what it was. Just wait till you get to use the new lighting and improved nodes, clothroom, and and and, well, you get my meaning.

Maybe a daft question, but have you installed SR1??

Yeah, TF, and it's still the same thing. It's nothing major, as I can't tell any difference in performance between OpenGL and Screed, myself. In all seriousness, my computer's getting a little on in years, it's almost, gasp, three this year, and I could probably use a new video card. But, one hurdle at a time. I still gotta pay for my internet this month! XD

You might want to try this...

  1. Switch your settings back to OpenGL.
  2. Select the camera.
  3. Increase the "hither" parameter dial until clothes, eyes, etc. look fine. My hither dial setting is currently 3.00. Yours may vary depending on the camera focal dial setting. If this works for you, then you may want to open a new scene, change the camera dial and then make it your preferred state.

I hope this helps! :) This drove me nuts until I read about it elsewhere.

I'll try that when I get home, Lee. Sounds like it might work. I remember this used to happen in p4/5 when I got too CLOSE to a figure...
