I don't know if this problem is a general one. or just something that happens to me. The MAT files for changing hair colour or style (particularly Kozaburo short hair evo) though still OK in P5 just refuse to work in P6. I can change the textures manually, but this is a pain. Is there a reason or a workaround? I tried looking at the MAT files in Wordpad, but knowing nothing about the scripting language, I don't see what to change.

There is a problem with partial MAT files in P6 (i.e. those that don't specify the complete material, but just change a subset). Some work, some don't, and from my experience some work until you try a FireFly render - even those often work if you exit Poser and start again. I'm still experimenting, but the easiest workaround seems to be to change the extension from PZ2 to MC6 and put them in the materials library. This is suggested in the P6 manual.

Thanks for suggestion. I tried it out, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

There's been a suggestion on another forum that, in addition to changing the extension, you should also edit the file. Replace the line which reads figure with mtlCollection As I said, I'm still fiddling with this one. It isn't helping that the results are inconsistent - a MAT pose can work sometimes (after restarting Poser, for example) and not at other times (after switching to the FireFly renderer, for example). I have tried the mtlCollection edit, and it worked for me; but I also subsequently got that MAT file to work without editing, so your mileage may vary. :/
