I've been considering picking up Koji and/or Miki from Content Paradise before the special sales end and I was wondering what other people thought of the figures. I know Koji can wear James clothing, but what about Miki, can she wear Jessi stuff? Are the figures themselves worth having? Pros? Cons? Am I better off saving my money for things like, say, food?

The only thing they are missing as far as I'm concerned is mimic capability, and I'm sure that's coming. I like them both. And They just put out new free clothes for Miki. Marque

Well we're still waiting on some good Morphs for Koji but he wear's Jame's textures with just a few extra touches on the neck seams.

I give them both thumbsup too. :D

PROS:

Their expressions are way better than any other realistic figure!

They are also the most realistic looking people to date. Koji is a must have, imho. There is simply no other figure that even comes close to a face like his. Miki has other Asian females beat in that her porportions are realistic and she has a truely asain realistic face. But that doesn't stop her from looking slavic. Have you seen Shahara's new texture Linda 4 Miki set? Whoa!

CONS:

If you are still using P4, PP, and PA you will need to convert the PBMs. The Eyes. I don't like the eyes on Jesse, James, Koji, or Miki. They look fine if the eyes are dark, but put a light blue on those eyes and they don't look as good. I haven't put Miki and Koji through pose tests, but I suspect their posiblity is somewhere between V3/M3 and Jesse/James. Aiko/Hiro and SP/D3 should have them is a pose contest.

Here's two interesting pictures of Miki and Koji.

Besides the very realistic expressions there can be a lot of versatility to be had in the Face Room. Here are some of my experiments (all pictured with the Cho texture from RDNA). I can't wait till Koji gets Face Room support too!

Just got Miki and she shows what is possible with the Poser technology, that everyone moans about. V3 is beautiful and can make very pretty renders, as long as you don't move her too much from her T-pose and don't try and change her vacant supermodel expression too much. (I realise I am generalising, but you know what I mean.) Miki's face and body are amazingly mobile. Can't wait to see what Yamato will make out of her. (Miki-U-Gyro yey!)

I have Miki. I'm working on a few body morphs for her. She has some advantages over V3 in a few areas. Mostly in her head. Her eyes render at a much higher level of realism (out of the box). Mostly because there are less separate mat zones. Her shoulder/collar zone is troublesome. Chins and forearms a tad overdetailed. Mesh is a bit starved in some areas too. She has tons of potential and with a few corrections can give V3 a good run for the money, if the market was so inclined.

Kalypso, great work! love your Mikis. I'm seeing a lot of great support for Miki out there, new stuff everydayL: head/body morphs, character packs, textures, clothes.... I'm happy to see her being supported by some of the best merchants out there, and I think the success of this figure bodes well for Poserdom generally.

Personally, I love Koji and Miki. I've been wanting realistic Asian figures for a long time. Their expressiveness is wonderful. They're a bit lacking in the morph department, but RDNA and others are fixing that. If you don't want Asian figures - if you're hoping to morph them into European-looking people - you will probably be disappointed.

Koji renders wonderfully - he looks very real. The best figure I have though he is very similar to James. I look forward to more diversity in P6 figures.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think at this point, I'm going to just invest in Koji and take a "wait and see" approach with Miki. I really love Koji's face and his expressions, and the fact that he'll fit into clothing I already own. With Miki's incompatibility with existing clothes, it makes her a little less enticing, especially since I'll have another new model to cloth once Anton's female figure comes out.

If you have Wardrobe Wizard, both Koji & Miki are supported. Also, You can find some clothes for Miki at PoserClub.Jp. The M3 Kimono and Hakama (see Koji image above) at PoserClub can also be fitted to Koji pretty easily. Koji comes with more clothes and hair than Miki. My favorite is Koji's Spikey hair. Believe it or not, it's transmapped hair nut dynamic. :D bB
