Ive had Poser 6 for a month now. Apart from the loss of an intuitive interface as in P4, I find P6 quite unusable for AVIs. Render time with Firefly is six time that of Poser 4 for comparably sized files, and even using the Poser 4 render within P6 takes three times as long. Maybe Im missing something here, but the voluminous manual is no help. Any thoughts?

Nope, you're not missing anything. My experience
is the same.
The so-called P4 render in 6 is not really
the same as the real P4 render, because it's
able to use the material shaders. It's some
kind of compromise.
I use P6 only when the animation really
needs to use node-type materials.... or for long animations, because P6 has a 5-digit frame counter.

Render time in P6 depends on a bunch of factors - texturesizes, geom sizes, shadows, ray tracing, ambient occlusion. There are a number of msg threads relating to extracted good performance from the P6 renders in these forums. Check the link above as a starting point.Creator of PoserPhysics

Poser firefly render is slower but is better then Poser 4, if you choose raytrace and oclusion, the render is infinity more realistic than Poser 4, yes, slower.
