I am having a difficult time importing a background image into Poser 6. When I import the image it asks me if I want to change the window to match the background. I say yes and it actually creates the image alot smaller and when I try to render it larger it really pixelates it badly. My question is this what do I need to do to import the image at it's actual size? This is the package that I am using: http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=34325 Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I never use background images directly. I've always experienced problems with the P5/6 background. What I do is load a single-sided square from the props->primatives library, size it to the same proportins as the image, apply the image to the (now no longer) square in the materials room, then send the square waaaaay back in Z, and use the (main) scale dial to fill the background.... When applying the image in the Mat Room, I plug it into the Ambient node and turn off (set to zero) diffuse and specular. And also turn of "cast shadows" in the properties" dialogue. In the long run, although it's a little more work, (though not that much once you get used to it), and saves (for me) a lot of hassle... Hope that helps... Cheers, Diolma (PS - make sure, if you go this route, to use the "single sided square", not the double one, else you'll get artefacts on rendering...)

Thanks for replying :o) I have tried this method before, however it has never produced what I was looking for. However I will follow your instructions and see if it might work for me. Thanks again

P6 sr1 I've only been using it about a month and the background image handling is as you have described wierd. Here's what I do: When it asks me "Do you want to change the size of the preview window?" I say, NO. My background is 1280 x 720 and even if I make the preview window the same there is still an offset of the bkg image. As long as the render output is the same as the background image I don't bother with how the bkg looks in the Preview window. When it renders, everything lines up back the way it should. Even if this is a bug I'm sure there has to be some kind of logic to the way that it misbehaves. I just haven't chased down what that logic is. As long as it renders correctly, I can continue working. Hope that helps.

deci6el, Thanks for responding. I couldn't get anything to work, so, I am doing the Alpha channel method. So far so good! Thanks again James
