hey all! some people may remember many years ago i bought poser 4 and had some difficulties. this forum was the first place i came for advice and the help i received worked very well. after having the computer basically rebuilt from the ground up, i had another shot at installing poser 4 (i could never get the hang of poser 5/6...) and a familiar message came up: "you are out of memory! Please save your work and quit soon. You may need to increase the amount of memory allocated to Poser." shortly after the message, the program crashes before coming up with a regular screen. i had this same problem the first time i used poser, but i have no recollection on how to fix it. anyone who can take a minute to help out a poser noob? ^^;;

There is a memory fix update at the Curious Labs/e-Frontier website that must be applied (this takes it to version 4.03) and you should follow their instructions for setting Virtual Memory. Article you need to read! :)
