Mac users: do you know whether the C5 beta overwrites your C4 preferences file, or does it make one of its own? I'd like to try the beta, but I'm wary of corrupting my existing prefs file. The C4 prefs file is at ~/Library/Preferences/Carrara.plist. If you change your C5 prefs and the modification date of that file changes, then I guess that's the answer. Thanks, Joe

No, it doesn't, the os treaats it as a separate application... I am enjoying the beta quite a bit though I can hardly wait for the mac plugins to be updated so that I can work on a pseudo-electron microscopy image of budding cells using light scattering

Preference files on the Mac are unique per application. You should not have any problem.

Thanks for the replies. Now I just have to scare up the cash for the upgrade.
