Steping back from all the excitment about C5 (my order is in but I haven't had time to install the Beta), is there a way to increase the number of decimal places displayed for numeric values? I'm trying to precisely position some objects and two decimal places isn't enough to do it. I know Carrara (like RayDream before it) accepts more precise data entry and rounds off the displayed number, but I need to know the actual value to transfer it to another object. Any ideas? Thanks.

Michael,

Each field individually controls how many decimal places shown so there is no global way to kick that up. If you download the SDK though, there is a tool in there called McSketch. This tool will let you edit the UI and do things like change the number of decimal places shown by editing the DTA files. However, you could also make your install of Carrara inoperable and have to reinstall so use with caution.

Thanks, Eric. I'll take a look at it. Is there a similar tool for C5?

In the C5 SDK the UI changes a bit to support the new way they do localization so you won't be able to edit it like that anymore. Regards, Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Plug-ins for Carrara http://digitalcarversguild.com
