LOL Forgive me,I'm kinda thick... Is 'Most Humorous' a separate category under Photography? It seems like you enter under Photography/Most Humorous or Photography/Landscape,etc.I'm guessing you can enter specifically for one of those sub-categories,but not both.Or just one general submission in 'Past/Present/Future.Is that right?Help.I'm confusing myself, lol! Sigh...I'm always so baaaaad at reading instructions... :^/

it's ok... ;] "1 entry per person, per category" "1 prize per person maximum, across all Holiday Contest categories." the "categories" being: 2D, 3D, Animation, Photography & Short Stories in Photography there will be 12 winners.. the preselected judging panel will pick 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 2 honorable mentions, 1 fave landscape, 1 most humorous & 5 runner ups "and the Grand Prize winner being selected from the highest scoring entry from each category" ...at least that is how i read & understand it, please correct me if i may be wrong :]

Past/Preset/Future? Sounds like a challenging contest. I was just reading the rules and am a bit confused with this one: "Photomanipulations are allowed. But, NO 2D, stock or 3D elements will be allowed." I am a bit unclear regarding the difference between photomanipulations and 2D. At what point does one cross the line from a basic photo edit to a 2D creation? Also, what exactly is stock? If I am correct stock is a torture/corrections device popular back in the Dark Ages? Or was that a different time period? I think I'm clear about 3D. Please forgive my ignorance. -Jeff

photomanips allowed- applying effects, collage, layering.. no 2D- using fractals, tubes & other 2D apps (or 3D apps) stock- stock photography, photos that are not yours but can be used in other images ps.. i did check on this... family photos in collages will be accepted.. since it adds a "past" to the image as an example of past & present, my photo, "i remember when.." at the link (2 of the photos used were from the family photo album) also an example of a photo manip past, present & future... what does it mean to you off the top of my head... 3 Christmas ornaments hanging from a tree, 3 generations- mother & pregnant daughter in a Christmas scene, or 2 at a gravesite in the snow, landscape- deadwood, live tree, bud.. just to name a few :]coolj001 posted Wed, 09 November 2005 at 12:34 AM
Thanks Cynlee. I figured something like that but wasn't 100 % sure. I remember "I Remember When..". Nice to see it again :-)

that's where some creative thought comes in.. ummm future..
again.. the unborn baby, a new plant bud.. etc.
actually, my Christmas Nativity post last year is another example.. there's past, present being the wise men (member's head shots) of today, & the cup & saucer/aliens being the future.. problem with that one is it's already been "published" in my gallery & would be considered a "collaboration" & i can't enter :( lol

there was a request to have the "Holiday" contest definition more firmly defined the following "holidays" will be allowed for images that may pertain to any of the November & December holidays for the purpose of this contest: Ramadan -- October 4 to November 3 Eid al-Fitr -- November 4 Thanksgiving -- November 24 Hanukkah -- December 26 to January 2 Saint Nicholas Day -- December 6 Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe -- December 12 St. Lucia Day -- December 13 Yule (Winter Solstice) -- December 21 Christmas -- December 25 Boxing Day -- December 26 Kwanzaa -- December 26 to January 1 Omisoka -- December 31 New Year's Eve -- December 31

your entry must contain at least one of the suggested elements- past, present & future.. but it is recommented/suggested that all 3 should be incorporated into your image obviously this can be interpreted differently by the artist & judges.. just do your best & have fun with it :] @Andreas.. add whatever Swedish holiday ya'll have at this time of year.. you can imagine trying to do this internationally.. ;/ well, you get the gist of it
