I have this 90 frames 2 keyframes animation, and I want to keep only the last keyframe (frame #90). How do I do this in Poser 6 (SR1, Windows)? I can delete all frames after the first, but didn't find a way to delete all frames except the last...
I tried to navigate to keyframe 1 (frame 1) and hit "delete keyframe", but Poser just ignores me (very vexing).
I also tried the "Retime Animation" menu (frame 90 to 90 => 1 to 1), and there again, Poser ignored me... :-(
In case it's of any importance, it's a 90-frame cloth simulation, and I'd love to only keep the last, useful frame, the rest is rubbish...

This is how I do it in P4, P6 is probably the same, but I'm not sure. Make the last frame a key frame. In the animation pallet select (draw a white box around) the last frame. With the cursor in the box hold down left mouse button and drag it to the left (the selection box should turn blue) and relasese the button when it is over the first frame. The result should be that the last frame is now in frame #1 position. Now select everything except freme #1 and hit the delete key.

Go to your frame that you want to keep then click "edit" "memorise" "all" this will save all details of the frame. On your frame counter click the right window and set the frame number to 1, You now have an animation of one frame (the first frame} Click "edit" "restore" "all " and the frame will reset to what was your last frame.

Hey, both solutions sound very good! One of them must work. I'll try it as soon as my Poser finishes it's rendering. Thanks a lot!

I don't think those solutions work with cloth or hair. If you want the result of a cloth sim: export the cloth from the frame you want, as an .obj, then import it. Please ask if you need export, and import options.

I have been using dadt's method for the last year. It works fine. Dale

Method #2 (dadt's) is the easiest. I use it all the time. You can also use the other otions for to copy the positions of Lights, Elements (usually Props) and Figures to a new frame.

Computer still rendering, so I didn't try it out so far. Will do so this evening (GMT) when I come home. My problem is I clothified inside a full-grown scene, with other figures and scenery and whatnot. Having 90 frames of that seems to strain my poor Poser more than necessarily, so I thought I'll delete all uneeded frames, which contain unneeded information since Poser animated all the changes I made over time, of course... gmadone, What's in your opinion the best method of exporting calculated cloth? I usually spawn a morph target, and export as .obj (because pre-SR1 Poser 6 was very prone to unclothifying for no reason at all (like moving a camera!...)).

Are Poser's animation tools much different from what is in other applications? I bought Carrara because I just can't do good animations in Poser, and I can't afford more expensive high end programs. I'm hoping the animation tools in Carrara are a little easier to use. I don't kow what it is about working with poser's animation palette that seems to make it difficult for me, but I have a very hard time manipulating keyframes and other such things without screwing up the whole timeline. It's probably just that I'm horrible at animation right now.

I tried both solutions. Method #1 doesn't seem to work for cloth simulations. Poser ignored me, as usual. sigh Method #2 did work, well sort of. The dress unclothified, but that wasn't a problem since I had made a morph. So at least I've got what I wanted: One single frame! Thanks to everybody for their help!

FYI, you can also copy n' paste groups of key frames. Draw a box around the frames you want to copy and hit [ctrl]+ C then click where you want to put them and [ctrl] + V. You can copy one key you can even copy keys from several figures. If you want to get really fancy you can paste the copied key into a text editor, modify or delete bits then copy and past it back into poser... Neat Nerd3D
