He watched as the lonely leaf drifted slowly towards the semi-frozen ground in the front yard. Soon, he thought, the snow would come and with it, the cold frigid air that would sting when one drew a breath.
No thoughts would come and the paper in front of him had been blank now for almost two weeks. He hadnt even started with a single word and then crumpled the piece of paper up and thrown it away. It was the same sheet of paper he had taken out of the desk drawer about ten days ago.
Where had the spark gone?
Writing used to be so easy. Thoughts would come faster than could be put on paper and sometimes would even get jumbled together. Now, there was nothing, not even a single word.
Life was, well, it was just empty but, why? There must be a reason, but where to find it?
He paced the floor and glanced out the window again. Now, not even a leaf fluttered by to animate the view through the window. There wasnt even any of the pain anymore; just emptiness.
And then, a glimmer of an idea flashed by. He tried to grab it but as quickly as it had made itself known; it evaporated into thin air.
Damn! It just disappeared. How could it have been so easy before, he wondered?
The telephone hadnt even rung in over a month. Had it been disconnected? He didnt even care anymore. She was just gone. Her name was

Mysterious and sad. Writing is eluding me as well, but not for such a profound reason. Good to see you here, Dr. Geep. You are always welcome.

Her name was Sarah!
He could see her face as plain as if she were standing in front of him right now. Did he miss her? Miss, ha! That didnt even come close to what he was feeling. Feeling, what was that? It would be nice to feel something. Lord, let me feel something, please!
He started to write her name on the piece of paper and then something stopped him. He wished he had the ability to draw her face but knew he had no artistic talent.
The darkness grew. In time the snow would come and, hopefully, brighten things up.
All of a sudden, the large gray silence was pierced by the sound of the telephone ringing ringing ringing
Could it be? No, it must be his imagination, and yet
He picked up the receiver and said slowly, Hello?
On the other end of the line silence for what seemed an eternity and then a voice that he had not heard in a long time said, Its me, I had to call you.
Sarah? he stammered?
And on the other end silence

Besides ...
Only Pozella really knows the answer to that one and she is ...

Well, I no longer have a car, so I can't threaten to show up at your doorstep with plate of brownies and pitchfork... so somebody ELSE has to poke. I should probably spend more time in the Poser forum, too. :sigh: Carolly

And on the other end silence
He could hear her take a deep breath and
CRASH!!!! The lightning and the thunder came simultaneously as the phone line went completely silent.
NO! he yelled at the dead phone in his hand. This cant be happening.
Sarahs small but ample country cottage was about five miles down the badly rutted dirt road he could drive there in ten minutes, or less.
The rain started coming down in torrents and the lightning flashes were only a few seconds apart.
This is insane, he thought, to go out in this weather but
He knew that Sarah was mortally terrified of severe thunderstorms. If she were here, he could wrap his loving arms around her and comfort her.
He was considering his options when a strong gust of wind blew the back door open and the rain started to stream into the small room.
He bolted towards the door to close it when a dim shadowy figure passed quickly by the open portal.
