The only recourse was to try an take photos. This was a wild experience in sun, cloud, dark roads and bright skies ...and fill flash. I did find out what worked. Unfortunately, when folks are running by, there is not a second chance for the same shot. Here are some images.
Any advice will be appreciated. TomDart.

Yep, all are my second shot at this stuff....as said in first post, first time while not a participant and with a newer cam and strobe.
