Can anyone help me do this? I can use the texture maps from poser but i cant figure out how to use the transmaps. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

YOu have to ungroup your figure. Select the hair then go into the Materials Lab and load the transparency map into the center option in the textures.. I recommend doing this in a new document and be careful not to move any parts.. When done you re-group the figure then copy and then paste into the scene your working on.

You'll also need to put the 'dot' for Transparency in the column for the texture map, and set the Material Option to 'Blend Transparency'.

BTW, you don't need to ungroup the figure. You can select just the hair by placing the mouse cursor over the hair mesh and pressing the 'Ctrl' key at the same time as keeping the mouse button pressed down. A little dialog box will come up with a list of items under the mouse cursor, and you can select the hair from there.
