I'm on a mac. I've also tried max on my bosses PC. How do I convert a 3dmf file over to something that bryce (or poser) can read? Any ideas? Mitch ps don't miss the Starry Ones today, Major storyline stuff going on.douglaslamoureaux posted Fri, 09 March 2001 at 3:19 PM

I thought that Bryce imported 3dmf. Maybe it was Bryce 2. Too bad you're on a MAC. XDimension Software has an affordable ($40) program called 3D Exploration that does a great job of converting .3dmf objects to .obj or .3ds formats. Unfortunately its only for a Win9x or NT. The link is included below, just in case you can run it in an emulator...Inkwolf posted Fri, 09 March 2001 at 8:09 PM
Bryce for Mac can import 3DMF. On the very few occasions I've tried it, though, I got an 'out of memory' error. That's Bryce3D, though. I don't know if 3DMF were supported in older versions, or if it's improved in Bryce 4.

Hmmn - I'm on a mac as well, and I'm pretty sure they read 3DMF - you may just have a problem with the fact that it seems that EVERY BLEEDING PROGRAM uses mild variations on these, which are frequently unreadable by other programs, even if it's the same format technically. Just pass it through another program that'll read 3DMFs.
