Once upon a time I saw a tutorial on how to make light rays in photoshop, I can't remember if it was here at rosity or out there in the vast webiness somewhere. In this tut someone just used a whiteish blurry brush, did a quick squiggle then applied some effect or blur on the whiteish squiggle.I'ts a short tutorial. Very simple and looks great. Anybody seen this.I want to give it a try
Please Help.

Without extensive tutorial searching, I would recommend trying 'motion blur' in the direction of the rays of the squiggly painted blurry brush thing. And maybe play around with the layer blend modes (and copies of the layer set to another blend mode and maybe gaussian blurred). There are lots of ways I can think of, but the approach depends on the look you are after.

If you need kind of the rays that coming through the clouds. Here is just a quick idea, make triangle selection and fill it with gradient (transparent to black) then soften with gaussian or blur the edges with blur tool, then change the color with H/S to yellow, and finally lover the opacity. Its just the idea :) Tihomir

Yep, tutorials are good, but if you want to follow step by step instruction to make something like a light ray, may be is easier to look for an action in photoshop to do just that. But the most satisfying experience is still when you discover your own technic by experimenting. :)) Me personally, I found blending mode ( colour dodge ) most useful when it comes to imitating lights.

THanks for the help all, keep it coming if you are reading this and know of a link, the tutorial I'm looking for had rays coming in from upper left to the mid bottom and may have been lighting a forest scene or room interier I 'm just not sure. It only involved a few pictures to get the point across.

Thanks hawkfyr, but the light rays at your link here were done using Bryce. But that's ok I use Bryce to, so one more Bryce trick up my sleeve.I'm still looking, If I find it before someone else I'll post a link here.
