Hi all, I was wondering what you all think about the size of the forum header. Personally I feel it's way way too big. I'm running at a resolution of 1600x1200 and then the top only just fits on the screen. The marketplace image is just at the bottom. This has to be the biggest header I've seen on any forum I've visited. I understand the need for the links etc to be there, but this IMHO the due to the sheer size of it it overshoots it purppose because you'll always have to scroll a page to get to the messages. I don't really know what I'm trying to achieve with this message, just putting a little itch into words :)

would help to come up with a solution when you find a problem.. we have tried to condense it..

We will be doing a rotating banner soon, and the size will be cut down. I have wondered this myself as of late. I would like to have links to our features noticed as a priority now.

yep.. the banner could be the same size as the gallery one.. the holiday contest is only temporary as we really need some good entries.. finally getting a few & the marketplace banner has to be there per the site

I also have been working a few nights on making this whole header a nicer look and fit. It has to work withing the size we have provided though.

I agree that the forum banner seems excessively tall. It seems to be the larger version would be more appropriate on the Photography homepage, if anywhere.

photography homepage? you mean the gallery? no way.. that's pretty big too :P

the one above is the same size it's always been.. maybe the orange makes it look bigger

also the forum has been a lot busier so we're getting more threads (longer too)- & that is a good thing!! -not a complaint.. we want our forum to be busy, informative & fun! as long as we can stay somewhat OT with a "normal" amount community chatting.. lol

No, I meant the Community page, thoug I feel that one is a bit too wide... For my tastes, the one in the galleries is just right.
