Is there a "modifier" or "behavior" that can be used to make something rock back and forth, or would you just have to do it by hand in the storyboard?

No, probably need motion path, but you may want to play w/ shake w/ this also. Really depends on what you want to rock.

Actually you can do this by changing the tweener to Oscillate. Keyframe one is first position. The final keyframe is the rocked position. The oscillate tweener will allow you to determine the cycles in between. Mark

cool...good information.Have worked very little w/ carrara animation, but it makes sense...like other tweeners.Have to take a look.Wonder why oscillate wouldn't also be a behavior?...any other effects similiar in the tweener?

I see it in the manual...there are definitely some unique carrara things I will have to play with that don't work exactly like some other programs for animation I have used.Little tweener formulas seem a bit hidden to me. Will be nice when some new tutorials come out...looking forward to it.
