HI all, I want to apply a label to the beer bottles in my Robots-Playing-Cards image. In the test image here you see two bottles. The label on bottle 2 is a separate, thin, object twisted to fit around the bottle. The label on bottle 2 is a rectangle layer added in the texture tree. I would like to use method number 2. But it looks like the label on number 2 is taking on the transparency qualities of the bottle, which I don't want. Is there a way to stop it from doing that? Cheers, H&B

Here is a screen shot of my texture tree for the number 2 bottle and label.

For your 'Rect layer' assign a transparency of 0. If you don't assign something, then Carrara will take on the top shaders assignments. Hope this helps!

Thanks. That did the trick. I did the same thing for relfection and others. It makes all the difference. Thanks again. H&B

Your welcome... one of those 'gotchas' that make so much sense... AFTER you've already torn all your hair out for 3 hours in the middle of the night... ok... just my personal experience... ;)

Yeah, I have had some fun myself w/ transparency and layers in carrara :D

No need to think outside the box....

I didn't know that. I assumed none meant 0%. No wonder.
