For your 'Rect layer' assign a transparency of 0. If you don't assign something, then Carrara will take on the top shaders assignments. Hope this helps!

Thanks. That did the trick. I did the same thing for relfection and others. It makes all the difference. Thanks again. H&B

Yeah, I have had some fun myself w/ transparency and layers in carrara :D
No need to think outside the box....
Just make it
invisible.

I didn't know that. I assumed none meant 0%. No wonder.
