Hi folks I'm drawing a comic. I've used a lot of poses with this Vicky3. Now I need to use a new saved pose, but it don't works... I use joint editor to put her in zero pose but she appears in a ridiculous Pisa Tower angle... hips axis are also in zero. If I try to put her in a right start position, I discover the axis don't work correctly (I try to move her to the right and her dissapears down the floor). How can I restore her to a real zero position???????

To get her zeroed you need to remove IK before using the joint editor......Steve

I know it. So all this mess is with IK disabled. Any idea?

Have you tried restoring the camera?

No. But as far as I see it isn't a camera trouble... is her who is in the wrong pose...

Try restoring the main camera. It should put her back to default position on the screen.

Have you moved Vicky using her BODY instead of moving her using her HIP? You may have zeroed all her joints, but check out her translations and rotations on her BODY.
Casette posted Fri, 09 December 2005 at 6:43 AM
Both. And both the same wrong result. Trying right-left movement she really does a upper angle-down angle... :(

Try restoring Vicki not the camera. That should reset whatever sent her askew. Do you have a screenshot of what you are getting? IS she loading in at an angle? I had the impression from your post that when you apply the pose it angles her oddly, in that case, did you save the pose that you are trying to use? If you saved it perhaps you didn't have Vicky herself selected when you saved it - that will cause the weird angled bodies alot of times when applying a pose. I do that on occasion when I save a pose, it is so frustrating because I end up with odd angles and of course my pose is gone...

just because she shows up in so many pictures with a vacant-eyed stare, fights battles in temples with sharp objects while wearing no or next to no armor, and seems obsessed with skimpy clothing, is no reason to call her stupid..;)

Vicki has a problem with her hip. When she is zeroed and you rotate her hip she does not stand straight anymore. This is not the case with Aiko or Steph or Laura, it's only Vicki who does not behave when her hip is rotated around the yaxis. For what reason ever, and restoring figure, turning IK off and on and off again and zeroing her won't make this go away.

when saving poses you must turn off ik. it's cool to use ik to get to the pose but then you must turn it off to save the pose. make sure all the body parts down the chain to the feet are included in the saved pose. i am afraid that you probably lost the saved pose because of this. ik being on makes us think that the pose is correct when we save it, but it does not save the neccessary information that will appear in the extremeties below the hip unless ik is turned off. then those dials spin to their accurate targets. then the pose will save successfully.

Anton, that still does not help. I followed the steps above, left the hip selected and rotated her 90 around the yAxis and she started to bend slightly to her left side. It's difficult to describe in english, I don't know the exact english word for "neigen" ... I think it's bend? I adjusted the zrot under Orientation in the Joint Editor and that helped. That is with V3SAE, haven't looked at the previous versions.

... or my final solution, when all is failed 1.- Selected my stupid Vicky3 and saved in a Character library 2.- Deleted it 3.- Loaded a fresh blank Vicky 4.- Changed the new Vicky with the saved character 5.- Voil X Y Z working again okay ;)
