Do you know if the Millennium Baby addons and clothing will work on this figure?

No, this is a new, generation 3 figure based on the V3 mesh. Different mesh, different mapping, different joints.

But IMHO I think they missed the point with the face. A baby's face mostly doesn't look like this. It looks more like a shrinked teenagers face. The proportion of the baby just doesn't seem right.
estherau posted Fri, 16 December 2005 at 12:22 AM
well if you increase the x axis of the head and decrease the y it would probably look okay. it is rather sweet. love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
randym77 posted Fri, 16 December 2005 at 12:23 AM
Yeah, I actually think the original MilBaby's face looks more like a baby. And the Cubed babies are cuter.
I get the feeling this model was kind of rushed. The mapping is a bit odd. Just slightly off the unimesh norm, so many unimesh textures leave white, untextured streaks over the baby's shoulders. (Though some work fine. I guess it depends on how far outside the lines the merchant colored.)

Yikes! It looks more like an alien than a baby...this is definitely a dissappointment. The last baby was better than this one..iMO

No worries for me: my Apollo Maximus has stepped forward for my baby renders. And he does do Baby, as in small cute bundle of joy.

Good luck if you can get him/her at the moment. The DAZ3D website is playing games with everyone's logins. If this problem continues, I damn well hope they will extend the 75% off sale (in fairness ...)

Love the Elf - are those ear morphs included? My thoughts were that he/she looks more like a toddler. Someone should do a nose morph and a scar texture for a Mini-Me figure, heheh. Cheers

I don't have the baby yet, but it seems if you just scale the head down to about maybe 90% it would look better. Would somebody try it and post a picture of head scaled to 90%?

It sounds like you did get some Gen3 maps to work on it? I remember reading that "this chaacter does not work with other Millennium maps" or something close to that the last time I was actually able to access their website and unsuccessfully try to buy the baby. It would be a relief to know that there are some possible other textures for the child. There are so many in my Runtimes that I have a good chance of finding something that works.

You can see the problem at the side of the neck in this image (though the shoulders are hidden by the shirt). This is Gwendolyn's "London" texture, BTW.

Those are the eyelashes. I accidentally included them in the "head" group in ShaderSpider. So it applied the head node setup - no transparency, and skintoned. I didn't even notice until I posted it.
It actually looked fine with the Kyoji MAT file, but the bump maps weren't connected correctly, so I used ShaderSpider to fix them. Not that it really mattered; you really wouldn't even notice the bumps in a render like this. It was just habit.

Thanks. Actually I was looking at that baby image closer and decided that even if I could use the Mil Baby addons and clothing on it, that I wouldn't get it anyway. The face is far from "cute" so I'll be sticking with the Mil Baby. Contrary to what some say, not all babies are cute. Some are pretty homely looking. This one falls into the later catagory.

I don't think this one is homely-looking, so much as un-babylike. It's got the face (and body) of an older child, and really doesn't look as young as the original MilBaby. Maybe some morphs can fix it.
I actually think the original MilBaby is homely-looking, in the way babies often are. (They may grow up to be gorgeous adults, but some babies are just homely. They look almost like old men.)
Cutest babies are still the Cubed babies. And they have genitals. I think I am going to buy them eventually.
When the exchange rate is more favorable...

I don't know my baby ages that well, but I would guess this baby is several months old. Apollo's baby setting also looks like an older baby. While the Cubed Baby, MilBaby2, and P4Baby look younger. imho, The most believable looking, and cutest babies go to the Cubed Baby. MilBaby2 looked angry to me. And P4Baby had the Capses morphs. ;) bB
