I have had many requests as to how to capture splashes etc. Here is a pic. of the set up: Background = Poster card from art shops Gate Control = Timer and sensitivity control for IR Gate and flash/strobe, Parts available at Electronics stores. Framework = Shelf Unit next door threw out in skip/dumpster. LED lights = Bank of White LED's available from Electronics stores. Flashgun = Any powerful(Guide = 125ft @100ASA) Flashgun/Strobe preferably non dedicated, this one 12 from 2nd hand shop. Modified to give short flash. Diffuser = Bottom of a plastic milk container. Tripod = Tripod or Pile of books. Remote Control = Handy unless you have more than two arms, though not essential. Baseboard = Cardboard covered in foil gift wrap. Reflector = Cardboard covered with foil gift wrap. IR Gate = Detects when drip has left pipette, parts available from electronic stores. Pipette = Pipette Delay Timer Control = Timing chips etc. to control delay of exposure from when the drip passes the gate till it hits the baseboard adjustable from >1 sec to < 0.1 millisecond, parts available from electronics stores. Or of course you could go out and buy it commercially as a ready made setup - way beyond my means !
And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.
