Who supplies web space in reasonably large amounts, in England and therefore in reach of being paid easily? I don't want an email address off them, merely the web space. I have started a Yahoogroup (link) about CGI = Computer Generated Imaging of Gerry Anderson related matter, and 20 megabytes came with it; but that space is only accessible to that group's members.

Tripod UK will provide you with quite a lot of space for free (100MB.)

Hmmm I just checked them out and was about to sign up when I read this in their TOS: "By setting up* a web page and associated contents in the Lycos Europe network, the member grants Lycos Europe unlimited textual rights for the associated contents to be used worldwide, free of charge and non-exclusively i.e., copied, transmitted and publically presented, integrated in compilations and distributed. This right is limited to the purpose of publishing and applying for the member's web page within - and associated with - the service selected by the member, or within the Lycos Europe network. This licence ends when all of the advertising promotions that are still continuing in the effective notice period, are finished. " Does that mean that they can print/publish or whatever any of your pictures that are on your website? Just being careful after my brush with Bizland. Alla

  1. I just looked at http://www.tripod.co.uk, and it is a bit cluttered and confusing. How do I apply to them for this space? 1) What happens if I make a link from outside to a .ZIP or .JPG stored on their site, rather than when people go in through my Tripod area's front page? 2) Do I get the 100 megabytes at once? Or do I have to recruit a lot of new members for them to get any reasonable amount of space? 3) What is their rules on high-traffic matter? 4) If I uploaded there the matter that is now on my own web site at Demon, how badly defaced with advertisements would it be?

Anthony i think you should go for a pay site if you don't mind paying for it. Then you would have much less problems with "disapearing sites". /Ohman

Please recommend some pay sites, in Britain so that I can pay them easily routinely.

Anthony, like I said- if you can wait just a tad, I have a deal you can't refuse. I mean it.
