O just me again! Waves I do have Daz's complex global lighting... I'm making a set of PSP tubes for friend ~ however I wanted lighting that was overall crisp.. does that make sense? The global is wonderful don't get me wrong.. but it makes the final render look almost too soft...? Does anyone have a lighting they use ALOT that you really like? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I Need a lighting that doesn't cast any shadows on the character if that makes any sense at all... Smiles

I very rarely use other people's lights. As for DAZ's Complex Global... sticks finger down throat Make your own set. Turn off shadows. If you're using P6, get a couple of Point Lights in there but beware of the HUGE rendering time. If I was you, I would ditch Depth Mapped shadows and go for soft Raytraced, too.

Maybe check out some of the free studio lights over at Runtime DNA. Sam Therapy-I agree totally about the DAZ lights. Even at $2 I felt robbed.

You want crisp? Use one infinite or spot light with shadows enabled. You can use another light or two for reflected light... but make sure shadows are disabled! Then go to camera controls/shadow camera for the light with the shadows enabled... and using the cross-shaped hands (x and z) move in until you have everything you want crisp and shadowed fill the document window. Render in Firefly... best with Depth Map. Raytrace is ok, too. You'll have everything, especially the shadows, crisp!

I really, really like the free lights at RDNA. In a lot of ways they're like poses: even if there isn't one you like perfectly, they give you a starting point. At the moment I've got my Poser set up to start with one of their SoftLights (Flesh) that's been moved about slightly and totally desaturated. Gives a good bit of global illumination to work with while the scene's being built. :)

I like using a set of lights that came with one of BaronVonHarkonen's packages - I can't remember the package it came with, but the lightset is called "BVH Prostudio", and I think it might be included with several of his marketplace items. They only cost $5 each anyway. Pictures with his lightset are very sharp and clear. It does have shadows, but it would be easy enough to switch them off or tone them down (and I have my own versions where I've done exactly that).
The RDNA free lights are nice, but I usually find the scenes to be a bit too dark for my taste.
