Ok..maybe the wrong forum, but here goes....Evey time I turn around, either poser or vicky or something is being upgraded. I don't want to complain, but I can't afford to keep up_therefore, I am still using poser pro pac and Mike/Vicky2. The problem is I can't find new clothes/textures/figures etc. Is there anywhere to fin new stuff that "fits in" with the older stuff?

For a time, Daz was giving away Mike & Vicky 3.0 for free. Check their site.

Just enjoying the Vue. :0)

Daz still has M3 and V3(base figures)for free. You can download them and check them out, however to do much with them you will need to purchase the morph packages for them.
I for one purchased the V3/M3 head and body morphs package for 49.95 instead of purchasing them seperate for 29.95 each. I know it's expensive but at least download the free base figures to help you decide. Just my humble and very limited opinion since I hate spending money:D .

Attached Link: http://www.philc.net/WardrobeWizard.htm

You can get Wardrobe Wizard from PhilC, which will convert newer clothing to fit M2 and V2. Apart from that you just need to comb freestuff carefully, but relatively few people are creating for the older figures now.

Unfortunately for those who do not wish to upgrade, those figures have been set aside in favor of the new toys. My advice would be to keep ProPack, as it's a good version of Poser to stick with, and upgrade Mike and/or Vicki, depending on which you use more frequently. Or, alternately, get David and Stephanie Petite. They're not as well supported, but they're MUCH better quality.

Hell, I have Propack, P5 and P6 all loaded onto my computer, and to be honest, I still use PP the most!

I render a lot of animation, and speed is essential. The bells and whistles in P5/P6 are great, but they slow the process down dramatically. I use them only when I need features that only a newer version of the program can provide.

As far as V2/M2 go, I feel your pain. I too, love these figures because they render faster for animation...though I have been using low res M3/V3 quite a bit too. Wardrobe Wizard is definitely a neccessity if you want to continue using M2/V2.

The thing that I kind of think is interesting, is that merchants will often re-make "clone outfits" of items that already exist for, or are very similar to existing V3/M3 ( V3 in particular) outfits, instead of focusing on other figures that are less supported and have empty closets. There are certain V3 outfits that are simply just tired out, imho.

As I talk to more and more people in the community, I find that there are a lot of people out there who still use M2/V2 as well as many other figures that are not well supported. Same thing goes for Propack, and even P4. Seems to me that there's a market to be had here by talented merchants.

That's just my two cents.

I still like and use the old stuff as well. with the literally 1,000s of items I've obsessively downloaded, 98% of which I haven't used yet, I can't really say that the lack of new items for Posette or Vicki 2 is a handicap. For the most part, it's not like they're coming out with new styles or innovative designs clothingwise that I can see. Hair can usually fit as can prop type accessories, poses work with tweaking as always etc. I'm not sure if anyone has remapped V2 to take V3 textures though there is a Maya Doll V3. If you need new textures and clothing then probably the Universal texture Converter and the Wardrobe Wizard should serve most purposes from what I've heard.

I, too, still occasionally use the older figures. M2 does have his uses, sometimes! :)
