i cried while looking at these pictures. some of them were heartwarming, beautiful, and funny, but many others showed the horrors that others around the world face. pictures from the war in Iraq just broke my heart. other images of children that show the expression on their face after losing a loved one...*sigh*. the reality of other disasters in the U.S. and around the world hit me like a ton of bricks, but i'm glad i saw these pictures. they truly are magnificent!

Powerful images Shiela

I add two more links for those who wish to review the world in photographs. As with Shiela's link some of these are moving powerful pictures so be warned before viewing.

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.
