I took this last Saturday on a Photographic expedition with Syyd to the 'First Ward' of Buffalo. A place that was settled by the Irish. Through the years I have admired many photographs of America that were taken in the 50's and 60's. The names of the photographers escape me. I have lived in the USA for just over a year now and find that I too have the opportunity to photograph America 50 years later. I called this 'Calvary' because the row of telegraph poles remind me of the crucifixes that lined the roads during the time of the Roman empire. I am sorry if this image took a while to download. I find that the grainier the image the longer it takes and the bigger the file size. Colm...

PS: I deliberately flatened out the contrast is this as IMHO adds a certain weird mood to the image.

that's an industrial photo. are we limited to one industrial photo for the contest, or can we submit several?

Gwyn. Only one photo is allowed in each contest. I am not allowed to enter as I am a moderator:(((((

...again, fantastic, really pro pic. Complex pics cant be compressed as much as simple ones. Jpg compression tries to pack areas of same color, so ex. image with big blue sky will be packed to much smaller size than grainy, detailed one like this. .niko
