oh Modesty, this is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The houses are so festive looking!!! What kind of plants are those growing in those pots? they almost look like Christmas wreaths!! I just wish i could take a peek INSIDE these houses!!! Bet they're filled with wonderful smells...wood burning, bread in the oven, garlic...sigh This was such a treat to see!!! Can't wait to see your next one! :)

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.

Yes, David! this aria will remain...its "culture protected"..unfortunatley a lot of old charming houses were smached down..before they realized the value..of old things/houses....thanx for your comment ;) @ Marlene..yes this little street is pretty "pittoresk" :) no cars are alowed...but acctually Its to small even for small cars...only bicyles and walkers :) My Ateljis 5 minutes walk from this street...I have a forrest just out my window and the sea 300 meters away....Awsome..I know...but they are going to smasch my Ateljdown..'cause theyre goint to build a hughe road...Halmstad got Hyberis...its a small Town....with "Capital-wannabie" "deseece..I think. Well I have written to the comunity and suggested free busses for folk...and the they dont have to build expensive roads....:) Sheila...sad to disapoint U...the flowers are fejk :) But the green are branches from pines. very common 4 Sweeds to decorate x-mas with pines :) Puss & Kram ;)

Smash down your atelje? What a shame!!!I'm sad to hear that.I hope you can change their minds.Once you start changes like that, you can never get the old feel back. :^(

Well sweet Marlene..I knew it before I decided to rent it..but it is a shame...When I moved to town as a teen..There were old charmin houses..not so expensive to rent..god for students, artists and others who dont have their pockets full of gold.
My Atelje is very cheep...I rent 150 m2 for aprox 312 dollars, electricity & heat included.
& I have 2 "artists working with silver" who rent a room...and allso those "lifedrawing" occations..wich helps me to handle the rent..cause Im not living there as U know..Im a countrygirl :) aprox 30 km away
Well I sleep over when Im in a "flow" LOL!!! (when I cant stop working)
It will be tough to find someting like that again...cause there arnt so meny big old houses left..only new ones extreamly expensive.....well I dont pre-worry :)
I take that when that day comes...& then I solv it :)
But I really think busses for free is a great idea...
It saves money, less pollution, less trafic, less accidents.....bla...bla...bla

So I hope I can "hang" in my Atelj..hopfully a couple of more years...and if I'll manage 3 more years..the comunity wich from whom I rent...then there is a special rule...that I, sort of posses the right..and they must offer/find me a new place :) So hold your thumbs ;) Puss & Kram

We just built a new library, too. But yours looks waaay nicer. And way more modern.Your studio looks great to me.I wish I had one!I wouldn't exactly call the photo an art piece, but it certainly shows what a lovely little atelje you have.I hope you get to keep it. hahaha.. i like how you put that Modesty..
wish i could drop over & we could go have some fun!!
here's an update on what i've been doing.. OT:
been working on & off in saving my harddrive..
finally got in yesterday with the help of tech support from India & some knowledge of DOS..
(could you repeat that please & speak slowly)
my OS is restored to like 2002-3.. programs are in shambles..
but My Pictures/Documents & all my Olympus photos are still intact & up-to-date!! :]hoooooooray!!!!!
since my "Drive Image" ghosting program will not work nor will take being reinstalled,
I have been copy & pasting them by hand to my external drive, folder by folder, working from the "tree"..
with a USB 1 to a USB 2.. making it extremely slow going :P
& it stops every so often asking about an encrypted thumb & do i want to keep going.. yes! yes!
a new PC, custom built seems to be the way to go
-Amd Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ 1gb Ddr 400 Ram 7200rpm
in a thermaltake soprano case, very cool looking
& with a 19"Ultra-Brite Viewsonic monitor! ..my old one has the IE header burned into the top
they'll even buy the old one & put the $ toward the new one
so there you go..
luv, crippled but not dead.. me.. pkpkpk ps.. thank you again for the "Bder"!! hehe.. they are quiet & luvable
