Now live online is the beta version of the Underworld: Evolution Multiplayer Game. It is a promotional vehicle for the upcoming theatrical release of the sequel to the 2003 movie Underworld starring Kate Beckensdale & Scott Speedman.

The game is a turn-based combat game running under Flash. The screenshot above shows one of yesterday's games in progress. Players may choose to play either on the side of the Vampires or the Lycans (werewolves), the goal being to eliminate the other side.

My contribution to the game was in designing the characters, their moves, clothing, weapons and props, and the modeling and animation thereof. The figures are Poser models, customized in Lightwave 3D and animated in Poser.

Previous games I've worked on include The Legend of Zorro Multiplayer Online Game, which was launched this past fall, and Fantastic Four: Clobberin' Time Multiplayer Online Game, which was released during the summer. These games are earlier incarnations of the same Flash engine. As in Underworld, I developed the models in Lightwave and animated them in Poser.

Lastly there is the Elektra Ninja Assassin Multiplayer Online Game, the grandmother of them all, which was released in the fall of 2004, but that was before I came on board.

Love the "Fists of Furry" and "Hurlin Chunks" moves. Very dramatic. Sixus1's Lycanthrope figure, yes?

Any chance that you might put the motions on the market? Or do they belong to Sony Pictures now?

I've been eagerly awaiting the Underworld sequel for some time. But then, I'll watch almost anything with werewolves in it.

the werewolf is actually a buffed-up and reproportioned P6 James merged with the P4 Wolf's head and neck.

as you can see, the wolf's head had to be significantly reworked to match the appearance of the movie Lycans, and the entire figure had to be rerigged.

and as you have guessed, you won't be seeing these assets up for sale, since they do not belong to me.

Very cool. This is somoething I like seeing - Poser actually used for more than wannabe pinup art. This and the Ghost comic post have inspired me somewhat :)
