I got it open in Firefox 1.07 with no problem. But I'm stumped. I assume it's not a model, but I can't even find a picture of it. M

mylemonblue posted Wed, 28 December 2005 at 6:05 AM

I also have Firefox 1.07. This is what the page that opened up for me looked like. Clicking the thum nail images of vehicles took me to the vehicles. Each vehicle comes in separate in parts in DXF or LWO format.

CBR100XX is I think the one Tucan-Tiki shows(About the middle set of thums-black bike). I downloaded the Honda NR near the bottom. :)

How do you assemble the parts? Do you just have to do it manually?

mylemonblue posted Wed, 28 December 2005 at 6:18 AM

Manualy yup. One part at a time. I just blindly imported each parts .lwo into my Poser5 with this import settings shown above.

Then I exported the whole cluster as is out as a obj. Then I imported the resultant obj back. I think I imported the obj back at about 110% of standard figure size but I didn't check it against a figure to see if that scale was write.

There was a message on sports bikes the other day "http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=2515303" That had this link and message from lmckenzie " I should get a commission I recommend this so often except that it's free! Get PoseRay. Goto load file and select all the .lwo part files at once and bingo the load fully assembled and ready to ride. Alternatively, you can use load one part and then use the Merge function to load the others one at a time. Either way, you can then save the model as an .obj file for import into poser."

I'm quite partial to the Blackbird from the Honda site too. P6 render.

nightfir posted Wed, 28 December 2005 at 10:53 AM

Nice. I'm in the process of downloading all the stuff off of the honda site for use in poser. On a side note I wonder if it would be legal to assemble all the parts of the various models from the honda site and put them in the freebies section in renderosity? Prob not. Brad.

Nance posted Wed, 28 December 2005 at 3:12 PM

You gotta be kidding!

I assumed I was just missing the correct button to find the entire model as a single download -- but if none of the rest of you has found one, I guess I'll start grabbing parts also. DRAT

(all part of a clever plan to establish Honda assembly lines all over the planet perhaps?)

Those 20 parts come together to make a motorcycle?! It seems like it's missing parts. Where is the frame? The seat? The exhaust pipes? Handles? LOL

Tucan-Tiki posted Wed, 28 December 2005 at 3:50 PM

Chrome tutorial at RuntimeDNA for Poser 6 material settings. Regarding distribution of the files, the honda site says no, even if assembled and put in poser. Personal use only and no commercial use. This was asked long ago when the site started distributing the parts years ago.

Indeed, Great source site for Honda vehicles!

Excellent job on the bike's materials, DRACONIAN.

DRACONIAN posted Thu, 29 December 2005 at 2:36 PM

Thanks, Little_Dragon! Forgot to mention that i used C4D for that render. Since i only have PPP, i don't have all the cool shaders nodes you P5,P6 users have. That's the only reason i would consider buying P5, for the new material system. Don't care for the other gadgets. Dolce Sogno! Marcus

Attached Link: Fixing the drive chain

I got the Honda NR imported into Poser, but had to do a bit of fiddling to get the drive chain in something close to the correct position. See the linked post in another thread for details.

The picture uses Aiko, and some items modified from the DAZ ProjectZ package. I think I may have the bike a little large, imported at 125%. I also adjusted some of the materials.
