I got Carrara 5 Pro for $240.00 instead of $599.00 Heres how. First I bought Carrara Studio 3 in a new retail box off of ebay for 50.00 bucks including shipping about 10 days ago, Owning that qualifies for a 299.00 upgrade discount on Carrara 5 pro. They were and maybe still are running a promotional 20% discount on all items at eovia store, bringing the price down to 240.00 Wow. And I'm in love to,Carrara is I would say about Bryce 10. Still love Bryce though:) Don't hate me.

Flak, Oh? I thought from what he was saying he was actually coding the features... ah well, it was a nice thought. ddaydreams, How does Carrara 5 Pro compare with Cinema 4D 9.5 then? Not in price - I mean in features and capability? I'm going to do a course on Cinema 4D 6 which I'm told means I could get a student discount on the upgrade to 9.5... hopefully. pakled, Yeah, I wanna see some more.

Well, I downloaded it had a go and think its pretty darn cool.

The render time alone is a culture shock, for any Bryce user; not mentioning all the extra stuff in there.

I guess Drac owes me some babies then;)

FranOn The Edge, One way to compare C4D R9 and Carrara 5 images would be to check out the galleries here at Renderosity. Also, you should be able to download the demo versions for each program and check them out. I am currently using C4D R9.1 and I found that the the C4D interface is much more friendly than Carrara, but that's me. You may found it to be the opposite. Good Luck!

Carrara is lovely suite indeed for that price and for its render features, BUT, I hate there is not (apparently) a small thumbinail preview like in bryce or vue of what you're going to render. Damn! Ok there are many high end applications too with the some lack. I find the small preview very useful and it saves a lot of time.
