Hello everyone, a happy 2006! I was wondering if any of you could help me: I'm looking for a nice olive tree, either for free or to buy, to be used in vue5 infinite. I have already looked over the Cornucopia website, but nothing like that seems to be there at the moment. I'm generally interested in mediterranean/european plants. Thanx for your precious help!!!

Hello, you can buy the whole XfrogPlants Mediterranean Library (60 models total) here: http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=21128 or you can buy the Olive tree models only (three different ages) at Turbosquid (see the attached link). In both cases you will get the model in VOB format and also in XFR format (in case you have Xfrog and would like to edit the model). I will just say, it's nice that XFrog are selling their models individually (although I have purchased a number of the libraries), but it seems expensive to me when compared to what you get in a library...maybe the renowned TurboSquid mark up? I'm just a little dissapointed that Xfrog chose TurboSquid and therefore, not as cost effective for their customers. Still, I do feel the libraries are well worth the money :) Cheers

Well, the libraries are of course a better bargain than the individual species... but this is normal everywhere. As for price, 39 dollars for a species is good price if you consider that: - you get a minimum of three models per species (that's 13 dollars per fully textured model) and in some cases, even 4, 5 or 6 models; - all of our models are produced by professional standards are have been used in professional productions such as Polar Express, The Incredibles, War of the Worlds, to name only a few; - Greenworks is a university-supported company and each and every one of our models is inspected by Greenworks team of botanists before release, and corrected if necessary. This guarantee of scientific accuracy is important for some kind of works (such as professional landscape architecture) but also for the demanding customer and nature amateur, and is not commonly offered; - our textures are authentic textures of the species, and are gathered worldwide: we organize and finance specific travels just to gather the correct textures. In other words you get true professional products for a price that is within the range of amateur products.
