postwork is the faster way, if you can manage well 2d pictures. i'd suggest to use some kpt filters and corel painter, then blend the result with your rendered image otherwise go deep into bryce texture editor and good luck. something unpredictable always happens (call it serendipity).

I would have to agree with zakalwe here, 2D is the way to go. Volumetrics are a real pain in the render;)
I never intended to make art.

I think, with some work, you could get a good base of that with a bryce terrain. Then postwork the heck out of it for the rest. Try doing a poser head and render it with the Altitude Mask. Then use that render as a terrian for a base of the image.

You could save these planes as your own filters to apply in future work.

I should mention, a drawback is increased render time. However, by using this method, the .br5 file contains all the information necessary to recreate the scene.

YEP that was a great bevy of amswers. I wd certainly try out the ink dropper tool.Real Thanks Zakalwe. But I wd certainly like to ask STRIVING about his answer.whats a attitude mask ? I am still not that deep in POser . Do you mean that I wd render a face with a expression O ? then a head with the same expression ? I wd them scale the 2nd head a bigger in bryce . I wd apply the apply the fog on the 2nd bigger head overlapped on the 1st small head ,which is in turn applied a ordinary ash material. Now to juggle with the transparencies of the two is this what you mean ?? I am trying to send a pic made this way . Please reply back what exactly oyu meant ?? JFIKE - your reply is also quite wise. I wd certainly try out yours. Thanks so much .
