Hello to all, yesterday I received these bad news about one very talented and respected artist from the Poser community.Catharina Harders aka Mec4D is having a terrible time in her life right now. I hesitated before posting this here and I don't know if it's okay. All I can say is that I am feeling very sorry for what is happening to Cath and I needed to post to you all guys. I called her to see how things are now, and what she told me just broke my heart. She lost everything in the tragedy, she didn't even have any clothes more than what she was wearing while all her possessions burned down to the ground.I had to tell her that the most important was that she was alive and well, and that all materials things we can always replace. She have to be couragous and hang in there and start new again, like many people are doing when these things happens. After we talk I think she felt a little better. Guys, if you have good comments for her to cheer her up or if you can and want to help like I did you can make a donation in her paypal account.even if it's small, all matters is that we help eachother if we can. her paypal account is paypal@mec4d.com for those who can help this way. Or just a kind wish or few nice cheering words will do wonders I tell you. I am sorry to post this here and I hope I don't offend anyone by doing so.here is the mail I received from a common friend we have. "Dear Mychelle, Cath asked me to write to you and tell you of her situation. She has had encountered some misfortune. I don't know how to say softly. Forgive me and please keep in confidence, but she wants you to know about. Yesterday morning, her home burned. She lost everything except what she was wearing and had in her bag. She is with with Marietta now, yesterday and today, and then Eddy will allow her to sleep there for a short time...some days? She has a cell phone. She can only accept calls, but not to call out. Thank you Mychelle...sorry about this news. I would rather contact you with happy things,...you know. I hope you are well this new year, Yours truly, Mark" Much love for 2006 for you all guys.Hugs to everyone of you. Mychelle-Anne aka Neftis

Sad news. Her work has inspired me so often I wish I could find words that would inspire her to hold on, and make her believe that the future holds better things for her. I wish her all the best and my thoughts are with her at this time. Thank you Mychelle-Anne. Q

My heart goes out to her, knowing exactly what she must be feeling. For me it was Tuesday, June 17, 1980, woke up, house was burning down, had to jump out the third story window in sleeping clothes, barely escaped with my life. Thanks to family and a host of great good friends, not to mention a sizeable insurance payout, I managed to get back on my feet shortly thereafter. Life is not the same after such an event, I tell you: It's better! Makes a great memory and REALLY puts stuff in perspective. I'll buy something from here store if and when it is together. Larry F

If you aren't into being selfless (and I don't blame you), I suppose one of the best things anyone can do for her is to head to her store at www.mec4d.com and buy some thing(s). That way you can make an investment in her getting back on her feet AND you get some GREAT products. I am in no way connected to Catharina, but I know she does fantastic work. On top of all that, she is gorgeous both inside and out (from what i've seen and read), and therefore fits all the requirements of a damsel in distress.Man, was I jealous when I saw she got married. :)
I don't normally post, or make comments like this, but I think she's worth it.

How terrible :( I'm glad that no one was hurt!! I hope she had insurance because things, while a pain in the butt to replace, can be replaced without too much trouble, but lives can't be. The main thing is that she and her family are okay.

I was just going to IM her and ask about her African textures for M3 and V3. She said they were coming soon last summer, and they still aren't in her store. So when I saw this thread, I feared the worst. I was afraid to even click on it. I'm relieved she's okay. (And her work is amazing. You won't regret anything you buy from her store.)
I hope she had insurance. A friend of mine lost everything when her landlord accidentally set her apartment on fire. Her coworkers had to take up a collection just so she could buy clothing to come to work in. Ever since then, I've had renter's insurance. It's really cheap, but more than pays for itself if you ever need it.

Shocked to hear this news, but the main thing is that she is OK. I trust and pray that she will be able to pick up the pieces, and re-start afresh - better than ever. She is also a great Poser idol to me as well, and always kind and helpful in her responses.

gosh, I was SO afraid to open this thread for what news I might read...I can't tell you how relieved I am to know she is not harmed...I do not know her personally, although her talent and reputation are outstanding, I have always admired and envied her so very very much...I'm so sorry she lost everything...like others here, I've been down that road as well, losing everything in a fire, except my and my baby's life...it is traumatic at the time, but something you can recover from, where being seriously injured is not...or even worse :( I am not in a financial position this very moment to purchase something, but may be in the near future...as she will need help not only now, but later as well, so for those who can not make a purchase now, there's always later... chin up Cath, you came out of this tragic event with the most precious posession you have, your life...there are more people who care about you than you ever knew, and this may show you how much people think of you...I hope than can bring you some small smiles in this time of sadness for you...wishing you the very best of everything, Karen sending many prayers and (((((Huggggs)))))

Without insurance, a new beginning may be incredibly hard. But I'm hoping hers will be easier then most. Cath, you don't know me but it doesn't take familiarity to extend prayers and my best thoughts for you soon to be seeing better days ahead.
