I have been trying to make alpha planes of fire in Poser 6. Has anyone tried this? And, is it difficult?

Has anyone tried this?

Yes. JPeter, in fact, has a number of products here and at DAZ based on that concept.

And, is it difficult?

No more difficult than applying a texture and transmap to a one-sided square prop, then placing a point light in the proper spot.

Experiment with the material's ambient channels to achieve the proper level of self-illumination. I also recommend disabling shadows on the square prop.

Romanceworks UltimateFire pack works the same way. You can download his free candle flame and see how it's done.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
